How we may collect information from you
We collect information in three ways:
- We collect information from you when you register on the site, place an order, sign up to our mailing list, when you contact us with an enquiry or in response to communication from us.
- When ordering or registering, we may ask you for your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information or other information.
- We also collect information about gift recipients so that we can fulfill the gift purchase. The information we collect about gift recipients is not used for marketing purposes.
How we use the information we collect
We use the personal information about you stored in our member database in various ways. Firstly, the next time you use our service and enter your User ID and Password, we may call up your information from our database to make processing your order faster and easier.
When you use your Madame Skin account, we will also keep track of your product preferences and analyse that information. We do so in order to be able to email to you special advertisements, offers and notices regarding products that seem to fit with your preferences and our skin care concerns. We may also use this information to notify you of product and service updates or to assist you with any questions you may have about a request that you have made for our products and services.
We do aggregate information about how our service is used (without specific identification to any particular user) to be able to improve our service and make it more responsive to our customers' preferences. We also make such aggregate information (without identification to any specific individual) available to our affiliates in order to obtain information about products, services, offers and notices which we believe will be useful and informative to our website users. In an effort to maintain your desired expectation for customer satisfaction, we review all comments supplied by you to other third parties when you use the www.madameskin.com website. By using this site, you consent to our review of such comments.
Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall. If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted. All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers. We never pass on any of your personal details to any other companies. Please note that if at any time you decide that you no longer wish to receive to receive email communications please just let us know. You can opt out of receiving email communications at anytime by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
We may at time send out non-promotional emails to all registered users for the purpose of gathering data to provide better services to our customers. Registered users will be under no obligation to reply or answer questions in these non-promotional emails which may also include service updates, surveys and site maintenance notices.
We may monitor and record communications with you (including phone conversations and emails) for quality assurance and compliance.
We may check your details with fraud prevention agencies. If you provide false or inaccurate information and we suspect fraud, we will record this.
How is my information protected?
We have a number of security measures in place to protect your personal data.

We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.

However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
How can you opt-out, remove or modify information you have provided to us?
To modify your e-mail subscriptions, please let us know by modifying your preferences in the "My Account" section. Please note that due to email production schedules you may receive any emails already in production.
To delete all of your online account information from our database, sign into the "My Account" section of our site and remove your shipping addresses, billing addresses & payment information. Please note that we may maintain information about an individual sales transaction in order to service that transaction and for record keeping.
Third party links
In an attempt to provide you with increased value, we may include third party links on our site. These linked sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these linked sites (including if a specific link does not work).
